How To Replace Yourself
Problems With Outsourcing Internet Marketing
I have personally experienced a lot of problems with outsourcing internet marketing, especially to the Philippines. So the question is: Why am I still recommending outsourcing internet marketing to the Philippines? Well firstly, I find the people in the Philippines extremely hard working, polite and always willing to go the extra mile. Additional the price in regards to outsourcing internet marketing in the Philippines is unbeatable, you get value for money.
Problems With Outsourcing Internet Marketing To The Philippines:
- Internet access : Probably the excuse I get often, Internet is cheap however your outsource worker may be signed up to an internet service provider that has thousands and thousands of subscribers on a server therefore it lags and sometime stops. Make sure you get your staff to tell you when they have internet outages.
- Power outage: Same thing as internet access, power outages are common in the Philippines. Ask your worker where they live and check to see if the area or province experience electricity shortages often. If it does, your worker will tell you about this and ask them how many hours they had no electricity. Most of the time, your outsource worker will make it up to you by working extra hours and they will often be honest about it.
- Time difference: for the United States, its an 11hrs time difference so if you are hiring staff to answer your customer service calls then consider the time difference. You can have them work at night at US time but its less productive – give them a healthy lifestyle.
- They forget to report what they did: For me personally, I make it a requirement that they send me a daily email advising me what they did for the day, what problems they experienced and what I can do to help them. This allows me to understand what’s happening and not get angry at them when I don’t hear from them. Chances are they are having an electricity or internet outtage.
- They don’t understand your business: your virtual staff doesn’t understand your business the way you do. So don’t expect them to know everything or be like you. If you were to give them tasks, try giving them recurring tasks so they can do over and over again until they are competent in that skill.
- Expect to train them: You have to be expert and train your staff. You cannot assume that they know how to do link building, article marketing, blog posting, social bookmarking etc. So use Jing to record 5 minute training tutorials and show them how to perform a task online.
That’s a wrap about problems with outsourcing internet marketing. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in India or the Philippines, both countries seem to experience the same issues. However don’t let this deter you from outsourcing internet marketing, remember at the end of the day there is only one YOU, and you cannot do everything yourself. You need to build systems that train other people to do your work. If you think you can’t afford a virtual assistant or an online worker, find someone and who can job share your assistant – even on a part time basis. However I highly recommend you hire a full time virtual assistant, using John Jonas’s Replace Myself program it is not hard to get someone to make $300 a month to pay for themselves. If you’re short on funds and want to go ahead with hiring an online assistant part-time then do so but please move them to full time as soon as you can to increase productivity.
So Go Ahead and Outsource Your Internet Marketing.
